Louis A. Johnson VAMC Groundbreaking Ceremony

On October 13, 2003 members of WBCM and the Design Team from Blackwood Associates took part in the most significant state project in West Virginia, groundbreaking for the new 120-Bed Nursing Facility on the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center property. More than 400 residents, military personnel, and State and Federal Officials attended the event. The Governor of West Virginia, Governor Wise, stated “This project was a total team effort, from the design, to the procurement of funds, and ultimately the building of the building”. The Whiting-Turner Company was selected as the contractor for the construction phase of this project. Jack Turner, IIDA, Project Administrator, and Kevin Nikiel, AIA, Project Architect, attended the event on behalf of WBCM.
