Inpatient Tower and Women's Center
Client: Baltimore Washington Medical Center
WBCM provided structural engineering and design services for the new inpatient tower and women’s center at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC). The project involved the structural design and reinforcement of approximately 245,000 square feet, more than 50% addition to the existing usable space of the hospital, which included seven occupied floor levels and two shell levels with a mechanical penthouse on the roof.
W200 Building Modernization
Client: Washington Navy Yard
WBCM provided civil, structural and survey services for a $63 million dollar design/build project consisting of the modernization of the W200 building, vertical expansion of garage 405 and development of temporary facilities for displaced staff at the Washington Navy Yard. Modernization of building 200 included design of a new floor infill area, upgrade of floor capacities for specific uses, addition of a new elevator, improved egress,
and analysis and design for anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP) issues such as blast, controlled perimeters and
progressive collapse.
