Widening of Padonia Road from Beaver Dam Road to York Road

WBCM provided engineering services for the widening of Padonia Road from Beaver Dam Road to York Road. Existing Padonia Road was a four-lane arterial roadway that carried a very heavy traffic volume. The roadway was widened to obtain an additional lane in each direction and included the widening of the bridge that carries Padonia Road over The Central Light Rail Line. Design required the construction of numerous retaining walls to avoid sever property impacts as existing development was very close to the roadway.

WBCM’s work efforts included field surveys to obtain topography and property corner evidence; roadway, bridge, and retaining wall drawings; maintenance of traffic plans; storm drain design and plans; stormwater management analysis and the design of a sand filter; landscaping plans; and preparation of right-of-way plats. WBCM coordinated with the utility companies during design and construction. The utility drawings were incorporated into the construction documents.
