Robert A. Brosso, AIA, has joined WBCM as Sr. Project Architect after serving as President of Brosso Wilhelm and McWilliams, Inc. for 24 years. Mr. Brosso has over 40 years of experience in commercial, mixed-use and sports and recreation architecture.

WBCM Announces 2004/05 TRIG-Star Winner
Whitney, Bailey, Cox, & Magnani, LLC (WBCM), a full service Architectural and Consulting Engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Jingying Yang has won the designation 2004/2005 TRIG-STAR for Dulaney High School in competition held recently. She is the daughter of Mrs. Xiaopei and Mr. Lian Cheng Yang from Timonium, Maryland. Alan Wirth was the second place finisher. Thomas Orisich, Prof. L.S., Senior Vice President, awarded the 2005 TRIG-STAR Award to Jingying on May 20, 2005, at Dulaney High School. Both Jingying and Wirth received cash prizes and the contest was sponsored by WBCM.
In addition, Ms. Yang won the State TRIG-STAR competition and will represent the State of Maryland in the National TRIG-STAR competition.
A TRIG-STAR is a mathematics student who has demonstrated in competition that they are the most skilled among classmates in the practical application of trigonometry. The competition for the honor is simply a timed exercise which is the solving of a trigonometry problem that incorporates the use of right triangle formulas, the law of sines, and the law of cosines. The contest helps to promote careers in surveying and mapping to students at the High Schools across the country. The award is sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors and cosponsored locally. Local winners also have the opportunity to participate in the National TRIG-STAR competition for scholarship awards.

Bailey, Cox & Magnani, LLC names Leon Kriebel Principal
TOWSON,
MARYLAND - Whitney, Bailey, Cox & Magnani, LLC is
pleased to announce the appointment of Leon Kriebel
as Principal of the firm. Mr. Kriebel currently serves
and will continue to serve as the Director of Transportation
Services. Mr. Kriebel has been an Associate and Executive
Vice President with the company since 1986 and has been
employed with WBCM for 20 years. He is responsible for
overall supervision of transportation projects in Maryland,
Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Mr.
Kriebel has 26 years of experience in planning and design
of highway, bridge and transportation projects. He has
been involved in the design of major transportation
projects in the State of Maryland including the Salisbury
Bypass, I-195 from I-95 to the BWI airport, the Warren
Road Extension from MD 45 to I-83 and the reconstruction
and extension of Beaver Dam Road from Warren Road to
Padonia Road in Baltimore County.
Mr.
Kriebel was also Project Manager for the reconstruction
of portions of MD Routes 32 and 526 in Westminster,
Maryland, and for the reconstruction of I-495 from I-295
to the Pennsylvania line in Delaware. He is a registered
Professional Engineer in Maryland, Pennsylvania and
Delaware.

G. Mongan, P.E., F.ASCE receives 2003 William H. Wisely
American Civil Engineer Award
Whitney, Bailey, Cox, & Magnani, LLC (WBCM), a full

is pleased to announce that David G. Mongan, P.E., F.ASCE,
is the recipient of the 2003 William H. Wisely American
Civil Engineer Award. This award was presented to Mr.
Mongan at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
Annual Meeting on November 15, 2003, in Nashville, Tennessee.
The
William H. Wisely American Civil Engineer Award recognizes
individuals or groups of individuals who are members
of ASCE and who have made continuing efforts to promote
appreciation of history, tradition, developments, and
technical and professional activities of the Society.
Mr. Mongan was honored for his many accomplishments
and contributions to the Society and its Members through
his years of dedicated service as an Officer, Director,
and volunteer leader.
Mr. Mongan is President of WBCM and has been active
in ASCE for over thirty years, currently serving as
Treasurer. He is a Past Chair of the Council on Federal
Procurement of Architecture and Engineering Services.
He also received the Maryland Section’s Civil
Engineer of the Year award in 1998 and the Engineering
Society of Baltimore’s Engineer of the Year award
in 1999.

Mr.
Aaby possesses over 29 years of experience in the construction
management industry. He is well versed in project coordination,
estimating and scheduling and has completed many difficult
commercial, industrial and heavy construction projects
on time and within budget. His area of expertise lies
within the industrial, institutional and commercial
arena having completed numerous projects for such clients
as Lafarge Gypsum, the University of Maryland, CSX and
the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
Prior to joining WBCM, Mr. Aaby served as President
of Baltimore Contractors, LLC where he developed a reputation
as an outstanding contractor, construction manager,
and design/builder for industrial, institutional, and
commercial projects
Mr. Aaby received his Bachelor of Building Construction
for the University of Florida and holds an M.B.A. from
Loyola College of Baltimore.

Lang, P.E. has received his AICP accreditation
Whitney, Bailey, Cox, & Magnani, LLC (WBCM), a full
service Architectural and Consulting Engineering firm,
is pleased to announce that Todd Lang, P.E. has received
his AICP accreditation and is now a Certified Planner.
Mr.
Lang is a Transportation Planner with more than 14 years
of experience in both private and public sector transportation
planning, design and permitting. His experience includes
a broad range of projects from regional transportation
plans to local traffic impact studies, multi-modal feasibility
studies, environmental documents and geometric design
projects. He has a thorough understanding of the NEPA/MEPA
process and environmental permitting requirements.
Mr.
Lang is also a member of the American Planning Association
and the American Society of Highway Engineers.
