
Bridge Department Announces Promotion of Jason Rogers, PE, and Addition of Mitchell Dobres, PE
We are pleased to announce that Jason Rogers, PE, has been promoted to Vice President of WBCM’s Maryland Bridge Department. Over the past several years, Mr. Rogers has taken on greater responsibility in managing the day-to-day operations of the Bridge Group. In this new position, Mr. Rogers will take on full responsibility for the Group, including its development and growth.
Mr. Rogers possesses more than 14 years of experience in management, design, analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection of transportation structures for various state DOTs as well as Federal and local agencies. Since joining WBCM in 2014, Mr. Rogers has served as manager of WBCM’s bridge inspection program and has served as Project Manager and Structural Engineer for various multi-discipline transportation projects involving bridge design and replacement. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005. Mr. Rogers is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland and Virginia. Mr. Rogers graduated from the American Council of Engineering Companies Maryland (ACEC/MD) Leadership Program in 2017.
We are equally pleased to announce the addition of Mitchell Dobres, PE, as Chief Engineer for the Maryland Bridge Group. In this capacity, Mr. Dobres will be responsible for project management, technical oversight, and quality control for all design projects within WBCM’s Bridge Department. Mr. Dobres has more than 21 years of experience as a structural engineer focused on bridge and highway infrastructure design. His experience encompasses structural design, including new design and remediation, condition inspections of bridge and ancillary structures, and project management. Mr. Dobres earned a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Mr. Dobres is currently a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Outside of work, he is active in the community as a member of the Sykesville Baseball Board of Directors and as a youth baseball coach and umpire.

Mr. Izzo assumed leadership of the Maryland Transportation Division in 2019, which includes the firm’s Bridge, Highway, Traffic, Environmental, Water Resources, and GIS departments. He will remain involved in active bridge projects and will continue to provide technical and management oversight of the Bridge Group in support of Jason and Mitch.
