WBCM provided engineering and survey services for the Design-Build of a 42,000-square-foot emergency services center that included space for fire, emergency medical, police/law enforcement, and administrative support services. The administration building is a steel-frame structure with a brick veneer that is supported by a traditional spread foundation system and topped with a green roof. The apparatus bay is a pre-engineered metal frame building with metal siding supported by a foundation system that utilizes drilled piers (controlled modulus columns) and compaction grouting to maintain stability in an area of significant karst geology. The Center was certified LEED Gold by the US Green Building Council.
