WBCM coordinated Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments, provided oversight for the creation of a response action plan, and provided technical design for utility installation and final capping of the highly-contaminated former Kurt Iron & Metal facility site. The site was part of the Maryland Department of the Environment’s voluntary clean-up program. WBCM designed the site work that incorporated part of the area into the Mercedes-Benz Auto Terminal and used reclaimed asphalt bituminous paving as the site capping to preclude migration of on-site containments into the bay through storm water runoff and infiltration.
