WBCM is providing professional engineering services to the Fredericksburg District for bridge safety inspection. Representative projects include:

Eltham Bridge over Pamunkey River: 49 span, 5,354-foot-long bridge of various span types and arrangements including a 248-foot-long double leaf trunnion bascule span. The inspection required the use of multiple crews using an array of access equipment, including under bridge inspection vehicles, bucket truck, and a boat.

Norris Bridge over Rappahannock River: 44 span, 9,985-foot-long fracture critical truss bridge. The structure consists of various span types, including multi beam, deck truss and through truss spans. The inspection required complex coordination between multiple teams working from the deck using an under bridge inspection vehicle and a team working from below in a bucket boat.

Lord Delaware Bridge over Mattaponi River: 28 span, 3,545-foot-long bridge consisting of prestressed concrete bulb tee girders. The main spans over the river are up to 240 feet long and post tensioned. The inspection required an under-bridge inspection vehicle, a boat, and MOT.

Routine Inspections: Currently providing hands-on inspections for bridges over I-95 and the I-95 Express Lanes. Inspections include coordination with VDOT and the Express Lanes for lane closures. Hands on inspections of deteriorated elements and fatigue prone details are performed using a bucket truck and ladder.
