On-Call Contract – State Highway Administration, District 6
WBCM is providing the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration construction management and inspection services in District 6, which includes Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties. Staff provided includes various levels of transportation engineering technicians and transportation engineers with experience in highway, bridge, and facility construction. Services provided include construction project management, monitoring and documenting contractor’s activities, conducting project meetings, processing contractors’ monthly estimates through the Maryland Construction Management System (MCMS) and electronic MCMS, resolving contract issues, supervision of inspection staff, constructability reviews, monthly CPM schedule update reviews, and coordination with design engineers.
Notable projects have included construction management and inspection services for the bridge deck replacement and substructure repairs to the I-70 collector-distributor lane bridge over I-81. WBCM provided inspection for the demolition of decks and superstructure; repairs to shear studs and beams; installation of new shear studs and beams; multi-phase maintenance of traffic set-ups; installation of new bridge decks and parapet walls; new traffic barrier w-beam with new end treatments; and the grinding and resurfacing of ramps, collector-distributor lanes and the westbound I-70 approaches. WBCM also provided construction management and inspection services for interchange improvements at MD 65 and I-70 and a stream restoration project at Kirkwood Park in Hancock, MD.
