Pennsylvania Turnpike Open Road Tolling Conversion
This project is a conversion to open road tolling (ORT) along a 50-mile section of the PA Turnpike Northeast Extension (I-476) between Exit 3 – Lansdale and Exit 87 – Route 903. WBCM performed preliminary and final design for five mainline tolling sites, including roadway rehabilitation plans and mainline toll gantry structures. The firm also provided foundation design; utility toll building architectural services; mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services; signing; pavement marking, building and toll plaza demolition plans; right-of-way and utility surveys; drainage modifications and environmental permitting, landscaping, and coordination with various PennDOT districts; and final contract and construction documents. Coordination is ongoing with the PA Turnpike’s tolling vendor.
