WBCM’s traffic engineering design team is dedicated to providing innovative solutions for the traffic elements of a project. We approach our designs with an eye toward understanding the human factors of the facility user to help make the multi-modal transportation facility safe and efficient for all. Our focus on safety and mobility extends to our maintenance of traffic plans. WBCM works with the design engineers and our construction management staff to ensure that the safety of the road users and construction staff are addressed and that constructability issues from the contractor’s perspective are considered in the design. In addition, our constructability reviews and value engineering studies ensure that designs are developed to avoid utility conflicts, provide ADA compliance, and are cost effective. Our maintenance of traffic work also includes the preparation of plans for temporary maintenance of key roadway elements such as lighting and signalized control. Our design efforts range from a simple roadway widening to the design of the second continuous flow intersection in the State of Maryland. We have performed all project delivery means, including field meetings with on-board contractors, Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and public-private partnerships.
