Firm History

This is Where We Started
Whitney Bailey Cox & Magnani, LLC was started on April 1, 1977, by Alexander (Sandy) Whitney, Jr., PE, Howard C. Bailey, PE, Paul E. Cox, PE, and Richard Wm. Magnani, PE, with a card table in Sandy’s living room and a project with Bethlehem Steel. After quickly outgrowing the rent-free space, the four partners moved into space on the sixth floor of the Federal Land Bank Building on St. Paul Street in Baltimore and never looked back.
In 1992, the first of several branch offices was opened in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
In 1999, WBCM, LLC was formed to provide our clients and teaming partners with architectural services to complement our engineering services.
In 2005, the firm formed WBCM Construction Services, LLC, allowing WBCM to provide clients and teaming partners with comprehensive construction management and facility construction services.
Today, WBCM is a full-service, multidisciplinary firm with offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
WBCM’s complement of over 200 dedicated employees, half of whom are licensed professionals including engineers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and LEED professionals, are committed to our mission of being a client-focused business that respects diversity, innovation, value, and excellence. The WBCM team has left its mark throughout the region, having completed the design, engineering, and construction of projects exceeding one billion dollars in construction value.
As we look to define our future through the use of innovation and technology, we are continually expanding our reach into new markets and broadening our scope of professional services.
